The Law School at Glamorgan was formally established in September 1995 after 25 years' experience of law teaching. It is based in a purpose-designed building and boasts excellent lecture theatres and workshop rooms, all equipped with digital audio-visual facilities. The Law School also has open-access computer laboratories with internet and CD-ROM facilities; a comprehensive law library; a moot courtroom; two interview suites with full video recording and monitoring facilities and two workshop rooms with laptop facilities.

The Law School is situated on the main University campus which houses a recreation centre, creche, play scheme for older children, centre for lifelong learning and careers centre.

Graduate Diploma in Law/CPE (full and part-time)
This is an intensive conversion course for non-law graduates who intend to become solicitors or barristers. The University has over 15 years' experience of providing the CPE course. Students completing the CPE are then able to join the Law School's LPC.

The University also provides a part-time course over a period of two years where students attend two evenings a week.

Legal Practice Course (full and part-time)

'The New LPC' offered from September 2009
This is a one-year vocational course catering for those wishing to qualify as a solicitor. Throughout the course emphasis is placed on skills-acquisition and real practical experience, with professionally qualified staff delivering lectures and workshop activities.

Students on the course study three compulsory areas of general practice and choose three electives of specialist study. We offer a range of both commercial and private client electives including Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Litigation; Employment Law & Practice; Family Law & Practice; Advanced Property Law & Practice; Advanced Business & Corporate Law & Practice; Wills & the Elderly Client and Immigration Law & Practice.

The University also provides a part-time LPC for students with work and family commitments. Students attend one day a week over a two-year period.

The Law School runs a very successful work placement scheme. This offers students the opportunity during the elective phase of the LPC to spend one day a week in solicitors' practices and other legal environments. The Law Society's assessors in their report say that “the work placement scheme…continues to provide excellent opportunities for those on both full-time and part-time courses seeking training contracts”.
