Type of business:
Lazard, one of the world's premier financial
advisory and asset management firms,
operates from 40 cities across 26 countries
in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia,
Central and South America. With origins
dating back to 1848, the firm provides advice
on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring
and capital raising, as well as asset
management services, to corporations,
partnerships, institutions, governments and
individuals.
Focus:
The core of Lazard's success is its simple
business model of Financial Advisory
and Asset Management, with a focus on
excellence, intellectual rigour, integrity and
creativity. The firm provides value to its
shareholders, premium service for its clients,
and an environment that attracts and breeds
top talent. Lazard is committed to investing in
the success and growth of the global Lazard
franchise.
The roles of analysts and summer interns:
Analysts at Lazard possess a passion for
business and a genuine interest in the
investment-banking sector, particularly
in relation to mergers and acquisitions. In
addition, they demonstrate well developed
communication and interpersonal skills
together with a sense of individualism and
identity. Their primary purpose is to support
transaction teams by performing financial
and statistical analysis, conducting research,
preparing client presentations and assisting
in due diligence efforts. Lazard's unique
structure provides analysts with exposure
to senior bankers and client representatives
from day one.
The summer interns complete a 7 day
comprehensive training programme before
joining the banking teams where they
receive first hand, in-depth knowledge of a
corporate finance business and gain practical
experience of the work of an analyst.
Training and talent development:
As our clients expect a lot of us, we must ask
a lot of you. We want you to succeed. We have
designed an extensive training programme
that will provide you with a sound
understanding of the technical aspects of
your role. The first programme, which is
attended by new colleagues from across
Europe, includes a carefully designed
residential course, master classes led by
practising bankers which will provide you
with real scenarios from recent deals which
have been delivered, and on-the-job coaching
by team colleagues.
In addition to courses, you will have a
mentor to ensure you are able integrate into
investment banking quickly and comfortably.
You will be expected to keep up-to-date with
regulatory and market developments on an
ongoing basis, and to take every opportunity
to learn from more experienced team
members around you on each assignment.
Our Senior Banker and Management Team
open-door policy ensures that you always feel
able to ask questions and receive guidance no
matter the topic you seek to resolve.
At least twice a year as part of our
performance appraisal process we will
discuss your training and development needs
with you and ensure that you are able to
contribute to a productive two-way feedback
conversation to provide clearly defined
objectives and specific next steps for your
career development.
Candidates will possess a passion for business
and a genuine interest in investment banking,
along with well-developed interpersonal
skills and a sense of individualism and
identity. A strong academic track record is a
must. Most importantly, we want individuals
with the commitment and flair to succeed
within our organisation. Apply online today at
