Kennedys is a specialist national and
international legal firm with unrivalled
expertise in litigation and dispute resolution.
The firm has over 900 people globally, across
nine UK and seven international locations.
Kennedys is a top 50 law firm and the firm's
growth and success has been recognised by
the 2010 Legal Business Awards, where it
was awarded ‘Law Firm of the Year' and
‘Insurance Team of the Year'. Kennedys
is regarded as a leader, not just because it
has some of the most respected legal minds
in their field - but because they know the
importance of being practical, commercial
and approachable. Kennedys prides itself on
offering its clients clear legal advice.
Who should apply
The firm is looking for graduates who
are articulate, self aware and resourceful.
Kennedys' trainees experience early
responsibility and client contact, therefore it
is essential to have a mature and confident
approach. Trainees with the firm must
have commercial awareness and a strong
appreciation for the interests of the client.
Kennedys is looking for sociable, energetic
team players, with a wide range of interests
outside of their studies.
Kennedys offer a vibrant and supportive
working environment built upon its
core values; they are approachable and
responsive, show respect for people, are
trustworthy and straightforward and ensure
that economic solutions are delivered to
clients. Kennedys' trainees experience early
responsibility and client contact as the firm
finds that this produces excellent solicitors
who are capable of running their own caseload
once they qualify.
The minimum criteria is a 2.1 degree not
necessarily in law, as well as 300 UCAS
points or equivalent at A Level. For further
clarification please contact Rowena Bubb
at

Training programme
The purpose of the training contract is to give
the trainees a mix of experience and skills
that will set them up in their legal career as a
solicitor with Kennedys. The firm's ability to
consistently offer the majority of its trainee's
positions on qualification is attributable
to producing newly qualified lawyers who
are competent, confident and commercially
driven. A balance of work experience,
responsibility, supervision and formal
training achieves this. Kennedys ensures that
its trainee solicitors are given sound training
in the core disciplines. All partners and
supervisors are readily accessible and always
ready to offer support when needed.
