SABB management development programme (SMDP)

We seek to recruit fresh Saudi graduates (with a Bachelor's or Master's degree) who are innovative, flexible, resilient and have the ability to think outside the box, in order to develop them to future managers and leaders of Saudi British Bank's (SABB) businesses across the Kingdom. Providing a comprehensive insight into our banking business, the programme is designed to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and experience needed to embark on a management career with SABB upon the successful completion of the training period.

Programme Objectives

The programme is designed to provide the potential trainees with a broad foundation of banking education, soft skills and on-the-job experience, in addition to various business and support functions across the bank.

Target Candidates

Candidates should:

1. Have a strong academic background (a university degree minimum with a GPA of 2.5/4 or 3/5).
2. Have prior working experience of up to 2 years maximum (would be beneficial).
3. Self-motivated with strong planning and organisational skills.
4. Have strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
5. Have strong presentation skills and be fluent in written and spoken English.
6. Display high potential to grow and the willingness to accept challenges.
7. Preferred Majors are:

• Finance
• Marketing
• Accounting
• Industrial Engineering
• Business Administration
• Management

Selection Process

Any applicants will undergo the following process:

1. Prescreening interviews 2. Ability tests 3. Competency based interviews 4. Structured assessment center

The Programme consists of four parts

Part 1: General Training courses:


A series of soft skills development training courses together with banking knowledge development courses will be offered.

Part 2: Specialized Courses:

Depending on the specifically selected business area of the trainee, other relevant courses will be included in the overall development plan. For example, if the potential trainee is selected to join the Corporate Banking business line, additional specific courses related to corporate Banking will be added.

Part 3: Attachments (on- the- job training)

Specific attachments in line with the trainee's development needs and future deployments will be arranged, in order to ensure sufficient on-the-job experience, in addition to class room development.

Part 4: Group Graduates Development Programme (GGDP) at Group Training & Management College in UK.
