We have 125 partners and approximately 400 lawyers offering a broad range of corporate legal services to major national and international clients. The firm's headquarters are in central London. What we are looking for
There is no typical Nabarro trainee. We are committed to making the most of diverse skills, expertise, experience, attitudes and backgrounds. You will however be required to display a strong academic record (minimum 1A and 2B's at A-Level, 2:1 at degree level). We also want you to demonstrate a flexibility of thinking and a flair for creative problem solving that will allow you to provide our clients with the best advice and assistance. You will need to demonstrate a genuinely positive attitude and proactive approach. We will also look to your interpersonal, team working and entrepreneurial skills, as well as your drive and enthusiasm.
Summer scheme
Nabarro run four summer schemes each year (three in London, one in Sheffield). Each scheme runs for three weeks to ensure you get a thorough insight into the business, our work and the people you will be working with. You will spend the duration of the scheme in one department allowing you to grow in confidence, obtain 'real' work and build relationships within your team. We recruit approximately 90% of our trainees from our summer scheme.
Those eligible to apply will be, as a minimum, in their penultimate year of a law degree or final year of a non-law degree. Applications are welcome from undergraduates and graduates.
Training contract
At Nabarro you will complete six four-month seats, not the traditional four, exposing you to a broad range of both specialist and core practice areas. It has been developed to give you experience across as wide a variety of work and clients as possible. Your final seat will be spent in the department you've chosen to qualify into. This means that by the time you qualify you will have eight months experience in that specific area, making for a much smoother transition. We aim to retain all of our trainees on qualification.
The Firm's practice areas include: Banking & Finance, Construction, Corporate, Dispute Resolution, Employment, EU Competition, Funds & Indirect Real Estate, Intellectual Property, Pensions, Planning, Real Estate and Tax. In addition, there is a chance to undertake a seat in our Brussels office or on secondment to one of our clients.
We ensure you receive excellent support and supervision throughout your training contract and we aim to provide a happy environment where individuals are able to fulfill their potential and ambitions. You will usually be sat with your supervisor, an experienced associate, who will guide you through the seat. We provide high quality work, a good client base and a positive, friendly atmosphere.
