Who are we?
Schroders is a global asset management
company with £204.8bn under management as
at 30 June 2011. Our clients are major financial
institutions including pension funds, banks
and insurance companies, local and public
authorities, governments, charities, high net
worth individuals and retail investors. We
apply our specialist asset management skills
in serving the needs of our clients worldwide.
With one of the largest networks of offices of
any dedicated asset management company,
we employ over 2,500 people globally, 1,500
of whom are based in London. With over 300
portfolio managers and analysts covering all
the major investment markets, we offer our
clients a comprehensive range of products
and services.
What makes us stand out as a Graduate
Employer?
We believe that our training programme is
one of the best offered to graduates today
and differs from other firms in several ways.
For some business areas, our programme
is not rotational; you are recruited into a
specific role with responsibility from the
start. You have a real job from day 1, which
will be combined with a fully comprehensive
training programme. Together with your
graduate peers, you will join a technical
training programme which introduces you
to all aspects of the Investment Management
business in preparation to do the Investment
Management Certificate Exam, and prepare
you for the CFA. You will also be given
special research projects during training to
stimulate your mind and allow you to show
initiative from the beginning of your career.
Now it doesn't stop there! After you complete
your initial training you will then go onto a
career specific training programme that will
last anything from 1-3 years and involves
gaining professional qualifications such as
the CFA for Investment, Distribution and
IT or CIMA for our Finance/Accountancy
graduates.
What we are looking for?
We want people who are passionate, strong
communicators with a lot of ambition and an
appetite for challenge. In academic terms we
are looking for candidates with a minimum of
a 2:1 degree and the ability to demonstrate the
traits mentioned in their application.

So what attracted our current graduates to
Schroders?
Most say they joined because of the people
they met. We believe that our biggest selling
point is our people - we're a friendly,
welcoming organisation, and that really
stands out in the marketplace. We listen
to what you want in your career instead of
putting you into a box which will give you
the opportunity to tailormake your career so
that it suits you.
