About us
We are a technology and security company
delivering projects using a mix of consultancy,
products and services. Governments and
commercial organisations around the world
trust us to tackle important, informationintensive
problems. For instance, we help
them to protect national security, detect and
respond to advanced cyber attacks, combat
fraud and get to know their customers. To
solve challenges like these, we combine the
latest technologies with our own domain
knowledge and intellectual property and
deliver them through a range of innovative
services and products. Together they help us
to create vital insights from big data.
Working at BAE Systems Detica
Consultancy means long hours, strict rules
and a corporate career path, right?
No. Far from it. We aren't a bureaucratic
organisation. Our company lets you find your
place so that you don't get lost in the crowd.
We respect your individual needs and want
you to feel confident in building a career that
is absolutely right for you.
Our success depends on continuous
innovation and improvement so your
creativity is as important to us as your
technical capabilities. We'll also encourage
you to use your experience and intelligence
to strengthen our approach. You'll join a real
team and, from the very start, work on real
projects and get out and about with clients. A
promise we deliver on!
Initially, when you join us you can specialise
as a Software Developer, Technical
Consultant, Data Analyst or Electronic
Engineer, but these career paths aren't set in
stone… You'll have the chance to tailor your
training and career, surrounded by friendly,
supportive and welcoming colleagues.
What makes you different makes you right
Although each role is unique, everyone at
Detica shares a common commitment to
finding and creating the right solutions for our
clients. And if a solution doesn't exist yet,
then we invent it. We're a highly ambitious
organisation and we expect you to be, too.
Each person who joins us is as individual as
the job they do. You'll need an astute mind
and excellent qualifications. You'll already
have or be expecting to achieve a minimum of
a 2:1 or equivalent in a numerate or technical
discipline. That could be engineering,
physics, computer science, mathematics or
an operational research discipline. Your
degree will be backed up by strong A-levels
or equivalent, and a good grounding in GCSE
Mathematics and English.
You need to be flexible – willing and able to
adapt to new situations and roles as they arise.
You must be able to show us that you can
learn quickly, and solve problems by thinking
logically, analytically and creatively. There's
no doubt there'll be something special about
you, and you'll have the communication skills
and the confidence to build relationships with
colleagues and clients alike.
You can expect to be involved in business
transformation assignments including technology
implementations, process improvements
and people changes. Projects will be both
short- and long-term, and their focus will
vary widely from technology to business and
back again, so you'll need to be ready to cope
with whatever new challenges come your way.
