North Lincolnshire is unique. The urban
centre of Scunthorpe, with its heritage in steel
making, contrasts with rural landscapes of the
Lincolnshire Wolds and the Isle of Axholme.
It sits on the south side of the Humber
estuary covering an area of 85,000 hectares.
Established in 1996, North Lincolnshire is
one of four local authority areas that make
up the Hull and Humber Ports City Region.
North Lincolnshire is part of the Yorkshire
and Humber region and has a fantastic
strategic position in the United Kingdom,
being centrally located to the eastern coast.
The overarching vision which North
Lincolnshire Council shares with its partners is
"Many Faces One Community - transforming
North Lincolnshire for the benefit of all." To
help us transform this vision into reality we
have identified four shared ambitions:
An area that is thriving
Communities that are confident and caring
Individuals can see the difference
Everyone works for the benefit of the area
The culture of NLC
We have three core values:
We care
We value
We achieve.
At the council our culture is defined by 5
principles:
A listening and learning organisation
Mutual respect,
Fair reward and recognition
Healthy work life balance
Effective leadership.
We recognise the need to bring about
organisational change and release the
resources to be able to deliver our ambitions.
We strive to be a top performing council,
delivering quality services that will make a
visible difference to the lives of people who
live and work here.
As a graduate joining us you will play a key
role in this transformation. We have recently
launched a new transformational plan and
you will be playing an integral part in driving
this vision throughout our organisation and
partners, helping provide the direction we
want for the council in the coming years.
Graduates joining North Lincolnshire Council
will be joining an organisation that clearly
recognises its role as community leader
and place shaper, and your skills, ideas and
qualifications will help towards equipping
us with the strategic leadership to ensure the
area's issues and challenges are addressed in
a co-ordinated way. We're looking for team
players, future leaders, people with drive and
dedication, and moreover people who want to
make a real difference to people's lives and
outcomes.
