A job with MBDA

At MBDA we offer you fantastic opportunities to build a rewarding career, working at two of our sites in the UK. The analytical skills you developed at university will be put to good use as you learn new techniques to solve problems.

We offer competitive salaries with regular reviews, a pension scheme, a private health scheme, employee car scheme and flexible ways of working.

Training

We look for employees with ambition and drive, who are capable of delivering and working as part of a large team whilst equally becoming specialists in their own field and able to work independently.

It's a challenging environment but the various elements included in your programme will help you to succeed:

Prior to joining you will be allocated a 'buddy' who will provide you with informal advice and guidance

On commencing employment you will attend a comprehensive 4-day induction event that explains the full scope of what we do, and allows you the opportunity to interact with your fellow new-starters

Throughout the duration of your programme a trained Mentor will offer support and provide information about MBDA, helping you build your skills and plan your career development for the future

Together with significant on-the-job training you will also undertake a range of personal development activities promoting teamwork, communication, presentation and leadership skills

We are committed to providing continuing professional development through accredited training, set out by professional institutes, such as IMechE, IET, Institute of Physics, and the Royal Aeronautical Society, as well as a series of development events for all new employees who join us.

Case Study

Tom began his career with MBDA in July 2003 with a 3-month summer placement prior to the final year of his MEng degree.

"I spent my summer working in the Strategic Change and Quality Department which gave me very valuable insights into the workings of a multinational defence company and aided my final year no end. I enjoyed my placement so much that when I was offered a place on the graduate scheme I was very pleased."

"I've certainly gained valuable experience from placements within different departments across the company, giving me a very broad knowledge of the organisation and how it operates. The overall training within MBDA is of a very high standard, with excellent opportunities for learning languages and a range of work-related skills. The mentor scheme also works well - its there if you need it and the advice is always impartial."
