Nationwide Graduate Programme (NGP)
As the UK's biggest building society we don't
have any shareholders. What we do have is a
passionate, wholehearted commitment to our
customers and the communities we serve. It's
the quality of our people that enables us to
understand our customers' needs and to create
innovative solutions to help them achieve
their financial goals.
Here in the UK, we offer a two or three year
graduate programme, comprising either
a generalist or a specialist scheme. Both
schemes incorporate comprehensive training
programmes, job rotations around the business
to broaden your experience and access to a
senior mentor, who will support you through
the scheme. If you provide the enthusiasm
and drive to succeed, we'll provide all the
tools, training and support you'll need to
advance your career.
Training & Development
Training is provided through a combination
of group learning, on-the-job initiatives,
coaching and skills training, which include
leadership and relationship skills. The aim
is to help you increase your commercial
awareness and learn how to make a direct
impact.
We have an excellent mentoring structure,
linked to regular discussions, feedback and
appraisal from your manager to ensure your
personal and professional development stays
on track. And your "buddy" (a previous
graduate) will be on hand for more informal
advice. Where appropriate, you'll have
the opportunity to study for professional
qualifications, too.
At the end of your graduate programme you'll
attend our development centre. This will
provide you with the opportunity to formulate
a plan to focus your future development to
allow continuous growth and progress your
career.
