Introduction
CHP Consulting is a leading provider of
software and consulting services to the global
asset finance industry. Established in 1990,
CHP has grown steadily and had a turnover of
over £21m in 2006. Our clients include top
banks, equipment manufacturers and finance
companies such as Bank of America,
Barclays Asset Finance, Commonwealth
Bank of Australia, HBOS, Hitachi Capital,
HSBC Rail, ING Lease, Lloyds TSB,
National Australia Group, Nissan Finance,
Royal Bank of Scotland and Textron
Financial. CHP has been named in The
Sunday Times' Best 100 Small Companies to
Work For in 2005 and 2006, and has received
Best Companies Accreditation in 2007.
Culture
CHP's most valuable asset is our staff and we
will go to extraordinary lengths to make sure
our employees are fully developed, supported
and happy in their work. We hold the
Investors in People standard highlighting our
ongoing dedication to the progression of our
staff. This begins with a five-week induction
which provides the right level of preparation
to allow immediate entry onto the client site.
Many courses in our usual two-year
curriculum are delivered in-house, ensuring
that material is relevant and continually
updated. This allows changes in technology,
our product or our industry to be understood
by all. Other external training allows
consultants to mix with non-CHP delegates
or focus on softer skills. Your individual
progress is devised through channels such as
biannual evaluations and mutually agreed
personal development plans, and those who
wish to gain further qualifications can have
this funded and supported by the company.
The meritocratic environment we promote
means the only thing preventing you from
being promoted is you!
Our employees are without doubt
professional and hardworking people.
However, if a dynamic workforce is to remain
happy, there must be a balance. Clubs such as
football, rugby, squash, surfing and running
are all organised and driven by staff.
Company events are also arranged
throughout the year, such as the annual
conference, company meetings every 8
weeks, client go-karting and golf
competitions. So whether you work in the
UK, Australia or the US, we want to make it
a challenging but enjoyable time.
What we look for in our graduates
We seek people who have an excellent
academic record (2:1 or above, in any
discipline but from a good university, and A's
and B's at A-Level). The job encompasses
technology and finance and, whilst
experience is by no means essential, a
passion and enthusiasm for these areas is a
must. Talking in depth with the IT
department as well as the finance department
at our client sites provides an exciting
challenge for our consultants. Client
interaction means, of course, that we are
seeking people with excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. We
also expect our consultants to contribute their
own ideas on a daily basis, so having the
confidence to put these forward is key. We
want to recruit people who will see CHP as
an investment and be a part of our ongoing
success.
