Areas of work
The firm is divided into five international
practice groups: International Corporate,
International Shipping Finance, International
Project & Structured Finance, International
Litigation and International Tax. These groups
are not divided by location but work together
internationally. The International Corporate
Group is divided into several sub-groups:
Employment/Immigration, EU/Competition,
Projects and Property.
International Corporate Group:
The firm's public and private company clients
have access to a wide range of domestic and
international expertise covering all aspects
of international corporate law, including
acquisitions, disposals and mergers, public
offerings of securities, management buyouts
and buy-ins, business and asset sales,
debt structuring, equity financings, corporate
restructurings, international privatisations,
and a wide range of commercial agreements
such as distributorship, outsourcing, purchase
and agency agreements, joint ventures
and partnerships. In addition, the group
offers specialist advice on real property,
IP, employment and pensions, service
agreements, share option and incentive
schemes, executive immigration, and all
aspects of European Union competition law.
International Litigation Group:
Large scale litigation, arbitration and
dispute resolution matters are handled by
the group on a worldwide basis. The firm's
lawyers have represented clients involved in
international disputes in the areas of banking,
construction, offshore oil and gas, power
and energy, international trade, shipping
(wet and dry) and aviation. The group also
advises on the enforcement of security over
vessels, marine pollution, marine insurance,
shipbuilding, charterparties, and offshore
oil and gas contracting. The firm has one of
the largest litigation practices of the offshore
firms in Singapore.
International Project & Structured Finance
Group:
The firm's lawyers advise on traditional
financing as well as project and structured
finance. The firm is a top-three player in the
field of renewable energy finance and is known
for its innovative and sophisticated use of
financing. The group focuses on the industry
sectors heavily dependant on the financing
of large capital assets and infrastructure,
including renewable energy, aviation, rail,
commodities, mining & minerals, oil &
gas and infrastructure. We represent all the
different types of entity which participate in
the international financial markets: banks,
international financial institutions, private and
public companies from all business sectors,
government agencies and international
governmental organizations. We act for them
in their different roles: as lenders, borrowers,
lessors, lessees, issuers, underwriters,
arrangers, custodians and trustees.
International Shipping Finance:
The firm operates across both private and
public international finance markets working
with a broad client base who collectively
dominate the world's shipping markets.
Advice is provided on every aspect of domestic
and international ship finance transactions,
including new building and second-hand ship
financing, domestic and cross-border finance
leasing, structured financing, full pay-out
lease and hire purchase financing, public
and private offerings of equity and debt
and related stock, exchange listings, credit
enhancement structures, taxation syndication,
securitisation and asset sales, and workouts.

finance partners of any law firm. With a
presence in all the major ship finance centers
we are able to offer fully integrated advice.
International Tax Group:
The firm's lawyers advise on domestic and
cross-border tax leasing, non-asset based
structured finance, international tax planning,
investigations and litigation, and indirect tax.
They also give advice generally on all types
of transactions.
