Who We Are
If you're after a varied and stimulating career,
take a look at Detica. We're a fast-growing
specialist business and technology consultancy
with an enviable reputation for taking on our
clients' toughest challenges.
The biggest single area of recruitment each
year is our intake of graduates, who are key to
our ongoing success and development. With
around 1200 UK employees we are the only
major consultancy small enough to treat likeminded
people as individuals.
Our aim is to become the pre-eminent
consultancy in the information intelligence
sector in the UK and the US, by exploiting
our strengths in business consulting, our
strong technical capability and our growing
pool of intellectual property.
Why Our Scheme is Different
There's nothing run of the mill about Detica,
and we won't confine you to a rigid graduate
training programme. You'll need the talent,
ambition and self-assurance to learn ‘on
the job', surrounded by a friendly team and
will focus on both business and technology,
as you work towards choosing your
specialisation. We promote purely on the
basis of individual performance.
You'll join one of our business units but
you won't be tied down, as you'll be involved
in assignments right across the business.
You might be working with a client to
understand their system requirements one
day, contributing to an industry white paper
the next, and presenting at a client workshop
the following week – being flexible and
adaptable are vital.
You'll need an appetite for variety, as you'll
be working on diverse, intellectually demanding
projects where you'll be expected to apply
– and develop – your technical, problemsolving,
analytical and commercial skills.
Graduate Technology/Business Consultant
Whichever business unit you join, you'll take
an active role in a wide variety of demanding
projects, with plenty of client exposure and
real responsibility. There will be flexibility to
second you to other business units and for
you to get involved in projects right across
the business.
You'll need a strong affinity for technology
combined with commercial experience or
awareness that ensures you have an in-depth
understanding of how using technology can
improve business performance. You'll work
on projects in a team environment, often on
client site, contributing to high-level business
and technology solutions.
You can expect to be involved in business
transformation assignments including technology
implementations, process improvements
and people changes. Projects will be both
short- and long-term, and their focus will
vary widely from technology to business and
back again, so you'll need to be ready to cope
with whatever new challenges come your way.
Graduate Electronic Engineer
Graduate Electronic Engineers join our 100-
strong Electronic Services Group (ESG),
based in Detica's Guildford and Cheltenham
offices, which creates the hardware, firmware
and embedded software that's needed to deliver
our leading-edge, client-specific solutions.
The team works at the forefront of technology
in FPGAs, signal processing, high-speed
PCB design, hardware-accelerated computing,
analogue electronics and embedded systems.
But don't worry about getting stuck in a
‘back-room' lab – you'll have the opportunity
to mix technical challenges with customerfacing
and project management tasks,
ensuring you have a wide variety of work on
a day-to-day basis.
