Who we are
We're one of the largest full service
commercial law firms in the Midlands with
regional and national reach through our offices
in Nottingham, Birmingham and London.
We are also one of the fastest growing law
firms in the UK, having trebled in size over
the last 9 years - this has been organic and
not by way of mergers which has maintained
a strong culture.
With over 500 people, we're large enough to
attract some of the best talent in the country,
but small enough to foster a supportive and
flexible working environment. Our people are
the key to our success and we have a track
record of attracting and retaining outstanding
people. This was recognised by the Lawyer
HR Awards 2008 when we picked up the
Graduate Recruitment Campaign of the Year
Award.
We focus on long-term relationships that are
friendly, flexible and straightforward, both
with our people and our clients. Our modern,
progressive working environment and our
friendly and open culture mean that our
people enjoy working here so they stay. This
allows good working relationships to develop
and provides consistency for our clients. It's
a simple tactic yet one that works; a large
proportion of our client base has been with
the firm for a number of years.
What we do
We have a long established and nationwide
reputation in all areas of our commercial,
public sector and insurance practices and
are recognised as regional heavyweights for
corporate, property, public enquiry, litigation
and professional risk work.
Who we're looking for
We believe in being open, straightforward
and easy to deal with, and that's exactly what
we're looking for, like-minded individuals to
join our team. We welcome talented law and
non-law graduates who can bring enthusiasm,
commitment and a flexible and friendly
attitude to our firm.
Training
You will start with a comprehensive induction
programme, a fast track professional
skills course and then go onto our trainee
development programme. You will spend four
periods of six months in some of the principle
areas of the firm, gaining an overview of the
practice.
Our trainees get great training, a friendly and
supportive working environment and real
career opportunities. They are also given
quality work and exposure to clients from
early on, but are supported in achieving
results and recognised for their contribution.
When and how to apply
Our application deadline is 31st July two
years before the training contract is due to
commence. Apply online at
Open days
Open days are held in our Birmingham and
Nottingham offices each Spring and provide
you with an opportunity to meet various
people across the firm and give you an insight
into the type of work we do.
The closing date for open days is 17th March
for open days in the same year.
Sponsorship
We sponsor our trainees through their LPC/
PGDL, paying tuition fees and providing a
maintenance grant of £5,000.
