Being an Army Officer is unlike any other
job - from leading a platoon of soldiers one
week to organising a team on adventurous
training the next. The Army offers graduates
the chance to train to become some of the
best leaders in the world.
As one of the most respected and
technologically advanced organisations in
the world, the Army can provide unrivalled
training and development to graduates
of all disciplines. The training packages
are designed to enhance management and
leadership potential and provide the skills
and self-confidence to excel in the Army and,
later on, in civilian careers.
There are many personal rewards as
well; Officers find it incredibly satisfying
to discover what they're capable of under
different kinds of pressure. After just one
year of training, you could be responsible for
over 30 soldiers and several million pounds
worth of equipment. It isn't just about the
training opportunities: the Army provides a
challenging career, continuous professional
development, great promotional prospects,
unrivalled travel, sporting and adventure
opportunities.
Following selection, graduates start their
Officer training at the Royal Military
Academy Sandhurst where they learn all
aspects of soldiering, management and
leadership training. On completion, they
will join their Regiment or Corps where
they will undergo specialist training for their
chosen occupation. Subsequently, Officers
may study for Army-sponsored or vocational
qualifications.
