BLP is an exciting, ambitious, challenging
and dynamic full service City law firm.
Awarded Law Firm of the Year 2010 by The
Lawyer, we are driven by an uncompromising
dedication to two goals - to always exceed our
clients' expectations and to provide a more
attractive place to work than our competitors.
We have particular strengths in real estate,
corporate, finance, tax and a strong litigation
and dispute resolution capability. We have
around 730 lawyers including 190 Partners.
Based in London, we have our own English
law offices in Abu Dhabi and Singapore
and a Russian international law office in
Moscow (Goltsblat BLP), which has over 90
Russian lawyers. We also have an office in
Brussels and a representative office in Paris.
In addition, we actively manage relationships
with two or more preferred firms in over 65
countries.
When recruiting trainees, our focus is on
quality rather than quantity. As a result, our
trainees are rewarded with a high degree of
responsibility and involvement underpinned
by an exceptional standard of training and
support. BLP has always prided itself on
providing the right environment for people to
grow. Trainees spend six months in four seats
and progress is reviewed every three months.
The majority of trainees will gain experience
within the Real Estate, and Corporate Finance
departments and undertake a contentious
seat during their training contract. Client
secondments are a popular choice, and there is
the opportunity to undertake an international
seat in either our Brussels or Moscow office,
if this is of interest. Our people believe BLP
to be a genuinely innovative and friendly firm
with a refreshing lack of hierarchy; our opendoor
policy is something that our trainees
value tremendously.
We look for bright, business-minded
individuals with a positive approach and a
drive to succeed. Successful applicants are
people-orientated, hungry to learn, and have
the flexibility to work in different teams
across the firm to find practical solutions
for our clients. In other words, people with
BerwinLeightonPaisnericity.
We run a one week Easter vacation scheme
each year and three two week vacation
schemes over the summer months. We have
up to 75 vacation scheme places on offer for
2011. In addition to this we have in the region
of 40 training contracts on offer for September
2013 and March 2014. Applications for
vacation schemes and training contracts
open on 1 November 2010. The deadline for
vacation scheme applications is 31 January
2011. The deadline for training contracts is
