Company Snapshot
Rothschild is a top tier international investment bank with offices in cities globally. It has approximately 3,000 employees worldwide and more advisory bankers than any of its competitors.
Rothschild's principal activities are divided into Investment Banking (corporate finance advice covering M&A, debt advisory, restructuring and equity advisory), Private Banking, Merchant Banking and Corporate Banking. In all these areas Rothschild is the trusted advisor to its clients.
Our graduate opportunities are currently available in Investment Banking where we are a market leading corporate finance advisor, providing objective relationship-based advice and services to our clients worldwide. Our long term perspective and approach generates significant repeat business from long standing and new clients, and means Rothschild is consistently ranked first in the UK and Europe by number of deals.
Given the significant and high quality deal volume at Rothschild, our graduates get earlier and deeper exposure to transactions and are given more responsibility earlier in their career. Graduates become rounded corporate finance advisors developing talent to advise global clients using their corporate finance, geographic and sector knowledge. The stability provided by our family ownership in this challenging market has allowed us focus on our core business of giving objective, unbiased and creative advice. Our recruitment philosophy remains to hire motivated and talented individuals who will be directly involved in all aspects of the business
Graduate Positions
On joining Rothschild, you and your global counterparts will undergo a comprehensive training programme based in London which runs for an initial six weeks.
The programme begins with a week long introduction to and integration into Rothschild. This involves engaging in networking events, learning about our global businesses together with soft skills training. The week ends with a team building weekend in the countryside. Five weeks of intensive classroom based technical training follows covering a range of core subjects including financial analysis, investment and funding, valuation, practical aspects of investment banking, as well as introductions to the financial markets, law and taxation. For those who have not studied finance previously, we ensure that you receive the necessary support throughout the programme to enable you to hit the ground running when you join your team.
After completing the Global Graduate Training Programme, you will join a team in one of our offices within Investment Banking (either Mergers and Acquisitions, Debt Advisory, Restructuring or Equity Advisory) where you will become an integral member of the team.
We encourage all our people to broaden their skills, experiences and networks. As part of this career development, over the following months and years you will have opportunities to work through different teams and/or international locations.
Internship Programmes
We offer two internship programmes in London within the Investment Banking Division.
Interns are recruited from all degree disciplines. A high level of academic achievement is required, together with strong numeracy and excellent social and interpersonal skills.
The Summer Internship Programme is a ten-week Internship Programme. The Programme is aimed at undergraduate students in their penultimate year of university.
The Long Term Internship Programme is for three - six months starting in September, January and March each year. The Programme is aimed at undergraduate students in their penultimate year of university or those that have already graduated.
Summer Interns spend their first week undertaking a training programme. This will give you the necessary skills and tools for getting the most out of your Internship. Subjects covered include financial analysis and accounting, computer training and data research tools, as well as an introduction to our different divisions and an opportunity to network with recent graduates and senior professionals. Long Term Interns participate in the general induction programme and join their team directly.
Interns will join a team where they will work for the duration of your internship. You will get a hands-on, insider's understanding of Investment Banking and the work we undertake. Due to the large number of transactions that we work on, there will be plenty of opportunity for you to be involved in live transactions and marketing projects, as well as to assist in the research and analysis of different companies and sectors. Graduates from recent years are always on hand to help, and you will find that, as part of a team, you will get plenty of support.
Your Internship with us gives us a chance to get to know you. If the Internship goes well, we shall offer you a place on the next year's Graduate Programme.
