Founded in 1937, Mishcon de Reya is a central
London law firm offering a comprehensive
range of legal services for businesses and
individuals.
The Firm's client base includes a dynamic
range of companies seeking advisors capable
of quickly understanding their goals and,
through close collaboration, developing and
executing the legal strategies for making
those goals a reality. Through its expertise
and entrepreneurial spirit, the Firm helps
clients achieve their objectives in five ways:
protecting assets, building businesses,
analysing risks, managing wealth and
resolving disputes.
Mishcon de Reya's international links are
vast and it has established practices advising
businesses and high net worth individuals
based in several jurisdictions, including
India, Israel, Russia and South Africa. The
Firm is also a member of Legalink, a unique
international association of independent
leading law firms located in most of the
world's financial and commercial centres.
Mishcon de Reya is dedicated to making a
positive contribution to the community, a
fact reflected in its established Core Values,
which encourage diversity, as well as a
commitment to the environment. In 2006,
Mishcon de Reya was one of the first UK law
firms to become carbon neutral and has also
been dedicated to pro-bono work for many
years. In 2008, the Firm was awarded The
Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For
Accreditation and was also ranked as a top
100 UK employer.

Trainee Profile
Applications are welcome from penultimateyear
law students, final-year non-law students
and other graduates wishing to commence a
training contract in two years' time. Our
trainees are typically high achieving and
intelligent, with good interpersonal skills
and outgoing personalities. Strength of
character and the ability to think laterally
are also important. Candidates should be
enterprising, enthusiastic and committed and
see themselves as future Partners.
Training Environment
Trainees have the opportunity to experience
four different seats of six months each. This
will include one seat in the corporate and
commercial department and one seat in the
dispute resolution department. The other
two seats can be spent in any department of
your choice. Trainees are also able to gain
experience in specialist groups during their
time with the Firm. Trainees share a room
with a Partner or assistant solicitor. Due to
the relatively few training contracts offered,
trainees can expect to be exposed to highquality
work with early responsibility. In
order to support this, the Firm has a wideranging
training and education programme
and provides extensive internal training in
addition to the Professional Skills Course.
Quarterly appraisals and monitoring in each
seat ensures trainees gain a range of work and
experience.
