About Maersk Oil
Maersk Oil was established in 1962, when Mr A.P. Moller was awarded the concession for oil and gas exploration and production in Denmark.

Today, Maersk Oil is a midsize international oil and gas company operating an oil production of some 650,000 barrels per day and a sales gas production of up to some 1,000 million cubic feet per day. The company has an equity production exceeding 550,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day from fields in the Danish and British part of the North Sea, offshore Qatar, in Algeria and in Kazakhstan. Activities are ongoing in the Danish, British, German and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, Qatar, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Angola, US Gulf of Mexico, Turkmenistan, Oman, Morocco and Brazil.

Innovative application of advanced seismic processing techniques combined with ultra long horizontal drilling and Maersk Oil's completion and stimulation technology, has been key to Maersk Oil's continued success. In addition, attention to health and safety, a strong respect for the environment and a cost conscious operation has made Maersk Oil grow to become one of the world's top 25 independent oil and gas producing companies. It is Maersk Oil's strategic intent to continue this growth. The company believes that this can be achieved by fully utilizing the potential of existing core production areas and establishing and growing material business in new desired core areas.

Maersk Oil and its subsidiary companies are owned by A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S and are part of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group. Maersk Oil has its headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
