Who we are
HM Treasury is a lively and fast-paced place
to work and has an extremely wide remit
covering everything to do with financial or
economic policy. There are 1,200 people
working at the Treasury, so it is a relatively
small government department and is located
at ultra modern offices overlooking St. James'
Park in London. We have offices in Norwich
where some of our Corporate Services staff
are based.
What we do
The Treasury is the United Kingdom's
economics and finance ministry. It is
responsible for formulating and implementing
the Government's financial and economic
policy. Its aim is to raise the rate of sustainable
growth, and achieve rising prosperity and
a better quality of life with economic and
employment opportunities for all.
What we look for
To deliver our aims, we are committed to
attracting and retaining a diverse workforce
and providing a mutually rewarding career
experience. We offer opportunities both to
exceptional graduates starting their careers
and to indivduals with valuable qualifications,
experience and skills from previous
employment or outside interests.
We want people with the intellect, energy
and practicality needed to succeed in one of
the most challenging areas of government. In
return, we offer a wide range of opportunities
and benefits.
Diversity and equal opportunities are an
integral part of our corporate strategy and
continue to influence the Department's
policies and practices.
Benefits of working for HMT
