Everyone's different. Fortunately so are we
We focus on being a bold and positive leader in our chosen markets and within the accounting profession. We're the UK's fifth largest accountancy firm, with 29 UK offices and 4,400 staff, providing advice to clients of every description. We've got a presence in over 100 different countries, so there's the potential for international exposure and scope to realise your ambitions.
We believe in giving people responsibility — early on
We are looking for graduates to join our assurance, tax, business risk services, recovery and reorganisation and actuarial departments. We encourage our trainees to take ownership and drive their development by putting their new skills into practice straight away. So whether you're working with a household name or a smaller client, you'll be face-to-face with finance directors, government bodies business owners, influential non-executive directors and well-known financial institutions
We believe in providing specialised training
Our graduate scheme has been designed to help you become a qualified professional as smoothly and quickly as possible. Our national induction programme and training courses are held at our dedicated training centre, Bradenham Manor, where you will gain essential business, technical and professional skills through a selection of courses. Beyond qualification, your career development will feature specialist and managerial training, and for some people, progression to partnership.
We believe in offering variety
However, what matters most is the work you will be doing on a day-to-day basis. Our trainees work across a variety of different sectors and within different teams to develop a breadth of skills. Secondments and transfers into different specialisms across the firm are commonplace and our international secondment programme opens up avenues to experience the global opportunities that are open to our people.
Try us out?
The only way to understand what the job is really like is to spend time doing the work of a trainee yet with no strings attached. At Grant Thornton, we offer penultimate year students summer internships and twelve month placements in tax, audit and recovery & reorganisation. Our placements are designed to give you an insight into Grant Thornton in order to gain an understanding of our business, our clients, our people and our culture. The placement also will help you determine whether you want to pursue a career in professional services and give you the opportunity to receive a graduate programme offer before you return to University for your final year.
Who should apply?
We're searching for people like us: perceptive, creative and willing to challenge convention. You should have minimum of 300 UCAS points (or equivalent) to apply for the following qualifications: ACA, CA, CIPFA and CTA or 240 UCAS points (or equivalent) for ACCA. You should be expecting a 2.1 Honours degree, or better, in any discipline and will have a minimum of B grades in GCSE Mathematics and English language.
