ExxonMobil is the world's leading
nongovernmental energy company. Exxon
Mobil Corporation is the parent company of
the Esso, Mobil and ExxonMobil companies
that operate in the United Kingdom &
Ireland. We operate within a business that is
dynamic, strategically important and
exciting. To secure our position within this
environment the company strives towards
operational excellence with an expert
talented workforce, strong financial
resources and cutting edge technology. Last
year we invested around £600 million in
UK upstream, downstream and chemical
operations. Our customers are both global
and local, ranging from major airlines to the
individuals who visit our service stations
worldwide. Every day we serve around one
million retail customers in the UK and
100,000 in Ireland. We have around 950
service stations in the UK and 200 in Ireland,
and have the country's largest refinery and
underground pipeline distribution network.
We have an interest in some 90 producing
offshore fields and are responsible for 10 per
cent of the UK's total oil production and 12
per cent of total gas production. Our
chemical products are used to manufacture
everything from lipstick to antifreeze. We are
a truly diverse organisation that offers equally
diverse career opportunities.
The Graduate Scheme
Graduates are recruited into ExxonMobil as
the potential leaders of the future, filling
specific operational roles as opposed to
joining a trainee scheme. We are recruiting
into a variety of roles that require a variety
of degree disciplines. We are looking to
fill positions in Geoscience, Chemical
Engineering, Production, IT, HR and in
Fuels, Chemicals & Gas & Power Marketing.
Please see our website or brochure for details
of these functions and profiles of recent
graduates working with us today.
All graduates receive required technical and
personal skills training via internal and
external courses as well as on-the-job. Rapid
skills growth and career development is
standard and you can expect a high degree of
intellectual challenge and change. Many
graduates can expect relocation during their
career and so a degree of mobility is required.
A supervisor and mentor are assigned to all
graduates to enable structured development
and progression.
The London Business School
All graduates attend the ExxonMobil
Graduate Development Programme, run by
the London Business School, which has a
worldwide reputation for research and
teaching in business management. The
modular programme is designed to cover
three main areas – interpersonal skills,
business awareness and people management.
The end result is graduates equipped with a
broad portfolio of skills to help them manage
real workplace issues, analyse problems and
take appropriate action. Graduates who
successfully complete the Programme are
awarded alumni status with the London
Business School.
Study for professional qualifications is also
encouraged and supported where appropriate
to the job role, e.g. IChemE.
With training, support and a competitive
package, graduates are required to take early
responsibility in a challenging business. We
are looking for high calibre candidates who
can demonstrate they are willing and able to
do so.
