CMS Cameron McKenna is a leading
international law firm and an integral part of
CMS, the alliance of European law firms.
We've earned a reputation for outstanding
client service, acute business awareness and
for being passionate about client relationships.
Client focus
At CMS Cameron McKenna we work hard to
be a truly client focused law firm. This means
understanding the unique needs and
challenges of each market sector, and
providing a service that is tailored to the
particular concerns and requirements of each
client. To help us complete this objective we
have launched one of the legal sector's most
comprehensive client feedback programs to
measure just how focused we are. In
November 2006 we published a report
entitled ‘Why Don't Law Firms Listen?'
which laid out the results of this feedback
program, and called on the legal industry to
respond to the persistent shortfall between a
client's expectations and the actual service
level they receive from their legal advisors.
International Presence
In line with our clients' needs CMS Cameron
McKenna also continues to grow the
international element to the business
becoming market leaders throughout Central
and Eastern Europe. Our recent awards:
‘Central and Eastern Europe Law Firm of the
Year 2007' (PLC Which Law); ‘Eastern
European law Firm of the Year' (Chambers
Global 2006); and ‘CEE legal and Consulting
Firm of the Year 2006' (Central and Eastern
Europe Real Estate Quality Awards), are
testimony to our strength and success.
Areas of Work
Our main areas of practice are: Banking and
International Finance; Commercial; Corporate;
Energy, Projects and Construction; Insurance
and Reinsurance; and Real Estate.
Training and Development
The firm offers four six-month ‘seats' or
placements, gaining experience in different
practice areas. You will be awarded a priority
seat when you start your training contract and
will undertake a compulsory seat in these
areas: Corporate or Banking, and a
contentious seat.
As soon as you join us, we will devise your
personal development plan with you. This
will be your blueprint for your career
progression with us. And we'll ensure the
right support programmes are in place to
enable you to perform effectively against that
plan. You will be also be appraised every
three months, so you'll always know exactly
how you're progressing.
In addition to your on-the-job learning and
legal technical training you will also attend a
variety of talks, workshops and lunchtime
sessions as part of our Trainees' Training
Programme. Designed to improve your skills
across a range of areas, they cover subjects as
diverse as time management, meeting skills
and team working. There will be plenty of
opportunity to try new things in each seat and
you may even be seconded to a client or
spend time in one of our international offices.
What we look for
The firm looks for high achieving team
players with good communication, analytical
and organisational skills. The work we do is
intellectually demanding and professionally
stretching and you'll find it excellent
grounding for a career in law.
