A top place to work
Capital One is consistently voted among The
Times top 100 places to work. There's a
whole raft of reasons for this, but graduate
recruits and long-serving colleagues alike
rank highly our skills recognition, incredible
reward structures and the culture of
innovation and entrepreneurialism.
You'll be part of an organisation with over
50 million customers worldwide. We're also
considered somewhat unconventional in the
financial services industry, creating products
and concepts that transform the business
models of even our most established
competitors. Our success is largely due to
putting our graduate analysts at the heart of
what we do.
What we're looking for
Quite simply, we hire the best and give them
the skills to do even better.
Capital One's entrepreneurial and
collaborative culture is best suited to those
who relish problem solving and the chance to
make things happen. We're interested in
graduates with excellent analytical skills who
are smart, inquisitive, independent, yet a
team player and up for the challenge
of responsibility.
The Role
As a business analyst at Capital One you'll
apply the theory you've learnt at university to
real business challenges.
You'll be responsible for identifying and
exploiting opportunities and devising
innovative new ways to attract and retain
customers. This role combines many of the
best elements of consulting, finance and
general management.
What's in it for you?
Put simply, career satisfaction. Our approach
is to get stuck right in, learning on the job
as well as through formal training. We give
you the structures and frameworks to solve
highly complex problems and you'll soon see
your ideas begin to shape a huge and
influential market.
You'll also earn top-notch benefits without
selling your soul. A jaw-dropping entry-level
salary of £30k is just the start. You'll also get
a sign-on bonus of £2,500, 25 days' annual
leave, full private medical and life
insurances, share purchase plan, business
course tuition fees paid, flexible pension,
subsidised gym membership and a stack of
free social events.
Living and working in Nottingham
Nottingham's right in the centre of England,
and we're right in the centre of Nottingham.
It's a modern, vibrant city, buzzing with over
300 clubs, pubs and eateries, many of the
trendiest of which are within minutes' walk
of our landmark offices.
If culture and nature are more your bag,
Nottingham has internationally-acclaimed
theatres, galleries, music venues, cinemas,
sporting and historical attractions and it's
surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Don't just take our word for it
Sam Hancock, a 2006 graduate recruit says,
I've already doubled the size of one of our
credit card programmes giving an extra
£120 million a year in credit limit.
Meanwhile, colleague Simon Maycock,
comments, I'm still here after eight years
because of the smart, challenging, fun people
I work with. Other highlights include the
autonomy of decision making, willingness
to make bold innovative moves and the rigor
of thinking.
The last word goes to Adam Price, It's a
fantastic opportunity to develop a rounded set
of business skills and capabilities, in a more
accelerated fashion than I believe is available
anywhere else.
