Trainees are the lifeblood of construction and Willmott Dixon Group regards its graduate managers as the leaders of tomorrow, tailoring its programmes to ensure that happens. Each year the company takes on over 30 graduates as trainee managers, who fall into three categories; year-out students currently studying a construction-related degree, post-graduate trainees with a construction-related degree or graduates with no prior construct in experience who take a special conversion diploma.
Graduates focus on one of the following disciplines; quantity surveying, site management, planning, estimating and pre-construction.
What are we looking for?
It prefers graduate trainees with a minimum of a 2:1 degree who have had either a year's industrial placement or some relevant experience. Self motivation, bags of initiative and an ability to work within a team come as standard!
Graduates with a relevant Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or Chartered Institute of Builders (CIOB) accredited degree undertake a two-year graduate Development Programme, while those with a non-construction related degree (non-cognates) undertake a three-year Graduate Development Programme and study a post-graduate conversion course.
Opportunities exist for under-graduates who have just finished A levels to undertake a four-year Under Graduate Development Programme which includes day release to study a relevant degree.
