Editorial - CHP Consulting Frederic Laurent
I graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (Paris)
with a master's .... .... to the company's
marketing team. It is a very different role to
my previous one; I am mainly in charge of the
technical set-up for demonstrations. This
involves setting up realistic data for demos
and developing enhancements to our
products to match the clients' needs. Our
product range is very large, so I often have to
ask for help from the people who developed
them originally. The supportive nature of my
colleagues and the quality of the knowledgesharing
system in place at CHP helps me a lot
in this regard. As I take part in presentations
to prospective clients, I learn about how we
sell our products but also about the market
and its needs and expectations. I also work in
collaboration with our R&D department to
add functionality to our systems in a
proactive manner.

The Financial Services (FS) industry is one
of the fastest growing and most diverse in the
world. It is .... .... consultants, marketing
and recruitment services, trade associations
and trade unions.
The development of financial services will
continue to have a momentous impact on
future global economic growth, as witnessed
by the rate of financial services development
in emerging markets. Indeed, it is widely
recognised that access to investment capital
and availability of reliable banking services
and are key determinants of emerging
markets’ economic growth prospects. Hence
we are seeing in these markets a general trend
towards liberalisation of formerly closed
markets, and a corresponding increase in
competition, innovation and customer choice.
In more mature markets, the impact of financial
services on growth will centre on the ability of
providers to develop solutions to emerging
socio-demographic issues such as the funding
of retirement and of healthcare. ....Read the full Editorial

Editorial - TUI Travel
Name: David Scott
Age: 24
Education: University of Leeds, BA French .... .... and marketing teams I have been
involved in a range of projects ranging from
the implementation of a new sales system to
putting in place contracts based on potential
ancillary revenue as well as redesigning
the inside back covers of the company's
brochures - a diverse and challenging set of
projects about as far removed as one could
get from working for the Internal Audit
Department.
And here lies the crux of the appeal; working
for an organisation the size of TUI Travel
provides the opportunities abroad that we
all long for, integrating travel as part of ones
further education as well as chances to manage
projects that would simply not be available in
a smaller organisation. However, although the
organisation is large, the number of trainees is
not. ....Read the full Editorial
“I joined the John Lewis graduate.... .... areas such as
marketing, personnel, the supply chain,

the partnership and allowed me to gain a

“The next step for me was to spend time
working in John Lewis Cheadle as a Section
Manager on the Electrical and Home
Technology department. Although initially
daunted by the vast difference to my first
department, working within both a different
team and branch was the sort of experience
I needed to aid further progression.
“12 months later, I’m the Department

the AkzoNobel portfolio contains some of the
biggest and most well known brands in the
decorative paints market, such as Dulux and
Cuprinol. As a global business the company
also offers opportunities to work with people
from different geographic markets. I was also
attracted by the company’s ‘can do’ culture.
From the first stage of the recruitment process
I knew the company was a good fit for me and
subsequently I’ve found my ideas’ are always
listened to, senior managers are accessible
and support is always available.
I’ve joined the Graduate Development
Programme as Customer Business Executive

I couldn’t imagine that this conversation

After some training and field experience in
Mud Logging (Italy and Austria), my
mechanical engineering background naturally
leads me to the production department.
Performing gauge jobs in France, giving

Operations in Gabon, I finally specialized
in Memory Production Logging (MPLT)
