UK market leadership for JTI/Gallaher.
Since the acquisition by Japan Tobacco

“I’ve always had a strong entrepreneurial
side and the big brands, size and reach of

Tom, who joined the development scheme
in September 2003, having graduated
from Bristol University with a degree in

Field Operations Executive
Sales Graduate.... .... 2006 after
studying Marketing BSc Hons at Lancaster
University. I knew I wanted to take on a
Marketing and Sales role within FMCG as I
felt the dynamic, competitive and aggressive
nature of the industry could offer me a
challenging and exciting career.
Through visiting career fairs, websites
and employment publications, I gained an
understanding of which opportunities were
open to me. The Nestle Sales graduate scheme
stood out from the rest. Not only tailored to my
individual needs, it also offered continuous
support in my career development. I felt that
I'd benefit greatly from a scheme offering
experience in a number of roles. Theirs
consisted of three different placements: one
in Field Sales, one in a Head Office-based
Sales role, and the third, either another Sales
role or a role in Customer Marketing. ....Read the full Editorial

Current Job.... .... first role within marketing at Maxxium
UK was as an Activation Manager for a
leading vodka brand. Some people may have
found it daunting to cut their teeth working
with one of the most well respected brands in
the industry but I was very lucky to work next
to some of the best practitioners and I learnt
a huge amount.
Working within a large marketing department
gave me the opportunity to develop my
knowledge across the brand portfolio and
when the opportunity to work with other

chance. I was promoted to Assistant Brand
Manager for one of our Liqueurs. The
experience gained in my first year put me in a
strong position to take on the new challenge
as I had a strong understanding of Profit and
Loss, Maxxium UK’s sales force structure
and managing brand building. After a year
in this position I was promoted to my current
role as Brand Manager. ....Read the full Editorial

I graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (Paris)

marketing team. It is a very different role to
my previous one; I am mainly in charge of the
technical set-up for demonstrations. This
involves setting up realistic data for demos

product range is very large, so I often have to

add functionality to our systems in a
