Twittering teargas

I didn't get the appeal of Twitter until I saw something great on the Guardian the other day. Reporters from the paper went out into the protesting crowds, and the bankers' favourite oyster bars, and reported live from the streets of London using Twitter. It was fascinating and utterly addictive - better than telly. I hope all you other media nuts saw it - if not, here is the archive of tweets. I have Twitter and I use it occasionally but it helps to see leading news sources innovate like the Guardian did at the G20. As journalist Lloyd Davis admitted to journalism.co.uk, "we don't really know what we're doing. As usual as bloggers we're jumping in and seeing what we can do"! That's the spirit.

My Twitter feed can be found at http://twitter.com/___ellie and I know another TopEmployer blogger Janelle ( GreatExpectations) has one too, check her out for more info. Like Davis, I am curious about social media too - and I'm hoping to get a bit more innovative with practice.

I'm back from Dublin and I have an interview for the MA in Magazine Journalism at Cardiff tomorrow so I'll let you know how that goes. Cardiff School of Journalism is dead handy at teaching online journalism which massively appeals to me. If you've got any Qs about my internship or anything else, go for it here. I have to go now - to make myself a portfolio of clippings! Seems really contrived, I only have about three things to put in it at the moment! - but I'll reply to your comments tomorrow night if I can.
