The Real Life Cluedo Game

Probably one of the most tense times below decks occurs wit "murder".  This is not the ritual sacrifice of drunken watchmen or that of the caberet singers though it would probably have been welcomed from all quarters.  Murder is a stratgic sport which relies on a feat of ornganisation and the general immaturity of the crew. All the ward room members (those with half a stripe or more) submit their names as potential victims and murderers. The names are then redistributed at random and in complete confidentiality. Each player then has their target. The aim is to marder the target and in turn inheret that person's target in constant consciousness of the fact that another crew member not so far away is trying to do the same to you. This of course runs the risk of making the entire crew completely paranoid at all times. Places like the M1 (the main crew corridor running the length of the ship) are a real danger zone.

Murders can be commited by poison (a sticker stuck to the bottom of the victims drink), stabbing (plastic knife), deadly injection (water in a syringe) and anthrax (talc). Later on in the game as the majority of crew are quickly slaughtered the organizers introduce assassins to make the murderers even more edgy.  Of course murdering is only allowed in crew area but its difficult to revent the effect of homocidal mania spreading throughout a community.  What the passengers must have thought of being served by staff members covered in talc, hiding syringes and racing out of crew areas screaming I can only imagine.

I of course die almost straight away, culled by none other than one of my own team members in the cruelest possible manner. This turns out to be a blessing in disguise as I am able to watch the fun and be an accomplice without the accompanying terror of being alone.  Throughout the time the game is running crew members can be seen racing through quiet areas and there is no difficulty giving them a fright.
