First Post Musings

Greetings everyone. This being my first official foray into the big bad world of online blogging, I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Clare, a recent graduate of Manchester Uni who has humble aspirations of journalistic stardom.

Anyhoo, after spending a few years writing for student papers, student magazines, a city guide and various websites, I decided the next rung on my particular career ladder should be to get an MA in Journalism.

My first interview was at Brunel, a Uni that has absolutely fantastic facilities and great career prospects. But this somewhat intimidating information didn’t seem to calm my interview nerves. On the contrary, I muttered my way through the interview, had no insightful questions of my own, and failed the aptitude testing miserably. Sure, I keep up with current affairs, but that doesn’t mean I know who chairs the LOCOG. (Yes, of course now I know it’s Seb Coe. Isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing?)

Next stop, Salford.
